Cookies Policy
The short version
We count visits with a cookie-free counter that runs on our own site and stores nothing on your device. With your permission from the cookie banner, we also use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity (which set cookies) and Metricool, to understand which pages are useful and how the site is used. Nothing is sold or shared beyond that. This page also lists a couple of cookie-free third-party requests the site makes.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files a website can ask your browser to store, typically used to remember who you are between visits or to track behaviour across sites. "Local storage" and "web beacons/tracking pixels" do similar jobs.
What runs for everyone
Vercel Web Analytics — counts page views, which pages were visited, the page you came from, your country and your device type, so we know how many people use the site. It sets no cookie and stores nothing in your browser, and it runs on our own domain rather than sending your visit to a third-party tracker. Visitors are not identified: to avoid counting the same visit twice it uses a daily, one-way hash of the request that cannot be turned back into who you are and is discarded after 24 hours. Because it cannot follow you and stores nothing on your device, it runs whatever you choose on the banner.
What we ask your consent for
Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*) — measures page views and site usage so we can see what's working and improve the site. This is only set if you click "Got it" on the cookie banner; if you click "Decline" (or don't respond), Google Analytics stays off and no analytics cookie is set. You can change your mind at any time by clearing your browser's site data for this domain, which brings the banner back on your next visit.
Metricool — counts page views for our marketing reporting. It sets no cookie and stores nothing in your browser, but it does send Metricool the page address, your browser window size, the page you came from and, as with any request, your IP address. Because it is still analytics, it follows the same choice: it only runs if you click "Got it".
Microsoft Clarity (_clck, _clsk) — records how visitors move through the site (clicks, scrolling, where people get stuck) and builds heatmaps, so we can fix what isn't working. Text you type into forms is masked and not recorded. Clarity sets cookies and only runs if you click "Got it".
Third-party requests we make that don't set cookies
- Google Fonts — our footer typeface is served from Google's font CDN, which means your browser makes a request to Google and your IP address is visible to them in the process, the same as with any external resource. Google's font service doesn't set cookies, but the request itself is a data disclosure worth naming.
- GSAP (jsDelivr CDN) — the animation library that drives some of our page transitions loads from jsDelivr's CDN on our homepage. Same as above: no cookies set, but your browser does contact a third-party server.
If that ever changes, we'll update this page and, where required, ask for your consent first.
Your browser's own cookies
Your browser may have its own cookies from previous visits to other sites, unrelated to us. Every modern browser lets you view, block, or delete cookies in its settings if you'd like to manage that independently of what any particular site does.
